Dr. Schumacher is board certified by both the American Board of Podiatric Surgery and the American Board of Podiatric Orthopedics and Primary Podiatric Medicine and holds Diplomate status with both organizations.  He is a Fellow in the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons and is a Fellow in the American College of Foot and Ankle Orthopedics and Medicine.

The Heel Pain Specialty Clinic of Canada is a division of the Achilles Foot Health Centre, a full-service 3,800 square foot podiatric medical facility in the northern portion of Surrey, British Columbia.  This Achilles Foot Health Centre provides a wide range of podiatric medical and surgical services.

We have several other areas of specialization and interest, many of which have separate websites devoted to them.  For instance:

• A major area of specialization for us is the piezoelectric version of Extracorporeal Shock Wave Therapy (ESWT), which is used to treat a variety of complaints, including heel pain.  Piezoelectric technology is the most precise version of ESWT available anywhere in the world, and we are the only facility in western Canada using this technology--and there are no such facilities yet anywhere in the United States.  We are also one of very few facilities anywhere in the world specializing in ESWT for the foot.  For more information on this non-invasive therapy, visit us at www.ShockWaveTherapy.ca.
